Businesswoman, now a non smoker and watching her weight

One of the many reasons smokers cling to their habit is because they believe that it is the perfect form of weight control. Unfortunately, this belief is not based in myth, but grounded in reality: smoking does cause weight loss.

How Does Smoking Help to Lose Weight

Nicotine acts as an appetite suppressant thus causing smokers to eat less. Additionally, cigarettes boost the body’s metabolic rate. Indeed, researchers estimate that smoker’s lose an extra 250 calories a day from the side effect of smoking alone.

The fact that smoking makes weight control easier is particularly problematic because it gives smokers an excuse to keep indulging in their toxic tobacco habit. Many smokers live in a world of denial, enjoying the short-term weight loss benefits of cigarettes without thinking about the long-term health damages of tobacco.

The cigarettes lead to weight loss dilemma which highlights the importance of smoking cessation assistance. Quitting smoking is not just a matter of getting rid of cigarettes. It requires a total lifestyle change. Smoking is a psycho-social habit, and along with the need for re-shaping attitudes towards cigarettes, people who quit smoking are also in need of re-shaping their approach to health and physical fitness.

Weight Gain is Not Always Associated with Quitting Smoking

Quitting smoking does not equate to weight gain if the quitter in question is willing to create a balanced diet and exercise plan. This does not need to be complicated or difficult. Instead, people need to understand that weight management is basically built around the certain principles.

Stay Health and Eat super foods

Super foods include green vegetables, colorful vegetables, Omega-3 fatty fishes, lean proteins, legumes, brown rice, spices, herbs nuts and fruits. A diet fortified in these foods will keep a person’s body going strong (and will also mitigate the harmful effects of tobacco smoke) by way of a diversity of nutrients and antioxidants. Conversely, when people eat diets heavy in starches, processed junk food, sugar and unhealthy fats, weight gain becomes a major problem—with or without cigarettes.

Stay Healthy with Exercise

The second key principle of weight management is exercise. The body needs regular cardio activity such as walking, swimming, running, aerobics or cycling in order to keep the metabolism running, the muscles growing; exercise is also a weapon against mood disorders. Around Day 4 when the energy kicks, most people are greatly motivated to exercise.

Why do People Gain Weight When they Quit Smoking

When that energy kicks in on day 4, there are some people who ignore this burst of energy and they are the ones who put on weight. Add to that the fact they are probably not eating healthy and are more inclined to eat high levels of processed food.  When a person quits smoking they are certainly hungry as the body is craving healthy food.

How to Quit Smoking and Not Gain Weight

When the weight management pillars of super foods and exercise are combined, they keep the body in its optimal state. What many smokers who use cigarettes as a means of weight management don’t want to admit is that they don’t want to go through with creating a fully healthy lifestyle—that takes time and effort. It is easier to puff on a cigarette and keep eating unhealthy foods than it is to give up the habit and learn how to eat and exercise right. But this is a fatal excuse—habitual smoking can only lead to severe medical problems and even death. If people want to quit smoking and manage their weight, then they need to be ready to make the commitment to move their bodies and eat the right foods, In other words, they need to make the choice that is healthiest for their mind, body and spirit.

5 Ways to Quit Smoking Hypnosis

5 Ways to Quit Smoking – Check the 5th way – Hypnosis

Making the decision to quit smoking is the first and most important step in quitting smoking. Some people can go cold turkey and not feel too many side effects.  This is often due to the fact they have made the conscious decision to stop smoking. However, most people feel extreme stress and sometimes anxiety when they try to quit.  This is due to the act that they are going against their unconscious mind to do something that has been doing it for so long. It is now a habit.

What are the 5 Ways to Quit smoking

1. Make a Plan and be Committed

Have you ever been on a holiday to say for example Fiji, made the decision and all of a sudden you were there. Now that doesn’t seem feasible does it. So planning is very important and is like most things. There needs to be a plan of how you are going to do it. Then there needs to be the date. This is usually followed by doing the research and finding out the best options.

2. How are you Going to Avoid those Cravings

Be prepared for the cravings and the discomfort of quitting. What can you do to avoid it? People often find that keeping themselves busy is a good start. Think about all the times you smoke eg, when you are bored, filling in time when you have nothing to do, after meals. So give some conscious thought about these times.

However the best way to do that is to make a list in one column of the times you smoke. Then in the right column list down what you can do instead. Keep adding to this list.

Start to affect change in your mind. Stand in front of a mirror and look at yourself smoking and see how ridiculous it looks allowing a little white object to control you so strongly.

Another thing you can do is save all your butts in a jar and every now and then open it and smell it and see how repulsive it is.

3. Avoid Those Times or Places When You Smoke

Perhaps you are smoking more frequently when you are with certain people or places. If it is with certain people, let those people know what you are doing. They will understand you will not be seeing them for awhile.

If it is certain places, then possibly the best thing you can do is stay away for a few weeks until you are well on your way or more comfortable with being a non smoker

4. Stay Positive and Seek Help

Sometimes it is a good idea to share with people your goal to become a non smoker. However on the other hand it can also work against you as they persist on asking you how you are going. Sometimes that in itself can be extremely annoying and enough to make you want to give up. Of course All you need is for someone to sympathise with you and that in itself can be a trigger.

5. Hypnosis

Would you like to quit without worrying about the cravings and other effects mentioned above. Well now you can, with hypnosis. With just one easy 2 hour session you can walk in as a smoker and out as a non smoker. The only thing that is required of you is the “want”. Hypnosis will not work for people unless they have the desire to quit. They cannot quit for someone else, it must be for themselves. People often make the comment that it is like magic. So easy and relaxing.

Is There a Cure for Skin Cancer?

Ambro / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in humans, and it affects millions of people across the globe every year. This cancer is caused by over-exposure to the sun, radiation, carcinogens, and aging.

Types of Skin Cancer

There are three types: basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. All three pose a serious risk to your health, but melanoma is the most dangerous.

How Can Skin Cancer be Detected

Skin cancer is relatively easy to detect because it comes in the form of skin discoloration and abnormally colored or shaped moles; indeed, most skin cancer victims discover their condition on their own just by examining their skin (however, a diagnosis can only be made by a doctor).

Since many people are desperate to maintain their golden brown tans year in and year out, skin cancer remains a potent threat to public health because most people are not willing to take the link between sun exposure and UV rays and the development of skin cancer seriously. Tanning is in and trendy, and people don’t like going against the aesthetic curve. However, being an avid sun bather does not automatically lead to skin cancer, and it isn’t the only cause.

What Else Causes Skin Cancer

Skin cancer can also be caused by damaging free radicals from carcinogens and the unavoidable effects of ageing. In act some research is being done on the effect of high level in diets. Still, the best method of avoidance is to stay out of the sun or use only a strong sunscreen when out in the sun. Keep in mind that the decreasing ozone layer makes it more and more dangerous to soak up UV rays on the beach.

Is There a Cure for Skin Cancer?

As with all forms of cancer, everyone wants to know: Is there a cure for skin cancer? Last year, a study conducted in the UK by researchers from Rush University Medical School in Chicago showed that a vaccine developed was able to completely cure 16% of those who used it and who were infected with advanced melanoma. For the rest of the group, the vaccine greatly improved the user’s chance of remission. This does not definitively prove that skin cancer can always be cured, but it makes curing it an option. In addition to pharmaceutical cancers medication, there are many topical ointments that have been shown to relieve skins cancer.

Cymilium, an over the counter insect bite remedy, has been shown to improve it’s symptoms, and a variety of natural remedies such as aloe vera and vitamin D are also used. If you have skin cancer, any course of treatment you undertake should be at least discussed if not approved by a doctor. However whether you are interested in natural medicine or pharmaceutical-driven medicine, the chances of completely curing your cancer are slim, so in that sense, both sides of the medical aisle are worth a try.

Does Smoking Cause Skin Cancer?

One of the causes of skin cancer is poor lifestyle including a sugar rich diet and/or smoking. So for smoking, you may have tried many times to quit smoking and perhaps you have stopped. However after a time you became stressed or you were having a drink and thought you would just have one puff. That is waking up the habit!

Unfortunately when quitting smoking it is important to be focused on being a non smoker. So preparation is extremely important. Going cold turkey is painful and there is an emotional struggle. That’s because smoking is a habit and you are trying a break a habit built up over years and years. The unconscious mind is there to protect you emotionally as well as physically. So that habit is keeping you happy. So changing that habit is going against your unconscious mind making quitting very difficult. This is where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis is an easy pleasant way to become a non smoker in just one session.

Why Quit Smoking is Hard

Depressed as he would like to quit

Depressed man smoking cigarette because quit smoking is hard.

Habits are hard to break. Like biting your nails or twirling your hair, smoking is a habit that becomes a nearly unconscious reflex. As you develop a smoking habit, your mind associates having a cigarette with getting settled in your car, having your morning coffee, or walking out of the office at the end of a workday. It becomes a subconscious habit. Quitting smoking is hard because, by quitting, you are forcing yourself to remove a habit out of your daily mindset.

Once you are a smoker, you do not continue to smoke because you truly want or enjoy every cigarette. You continue to smoke because smoking controls your life. It is automatic. This is why quitting smoking is so hard, but, as long as you’re truly ready, quitting smoking doesn’t have to be impossible.

The problem with physical treatments

People wonder why quit smoking is hard. Many people turn to physical solutions to help them quit smoking, whether those are nicotine patches, gums, or electronic cigarettes. These can help curb physical cravings, but the mental urge is still there. While using these treatments, you are still a smoker. It is common for smokers who have used these to pick up smoking again, either in the middle of treatment or shortly after quitting. Especially if you turn to using electronic cigarettes, you are replacing one habit with another. If long-term or life-long quitting is your goal, you may be looking for other, more permanent solutions.

How hypnosis is unique

Hypnosis is different. A good hypnotherapist can make you into a permanent nonsmoker after just one session. For a hypnosis session to be successful, though, you must be completely prepared. Perhaps the hypnotherapist will provide materials to fill out, listen to, or read before your session. Think of why you want to quit, why you started smoking in the first place, and why you have or haven’t tried quitting previously. You cannot have doubts while going into your hypnotherapy session—you must trust your hypnotherapist, and you must truly believe you will be a nonsmoker at the end of the session. You may have outside motivators to help you quit smoking, whether that is your family, friends, job, etc., but the most essential thing you can bring to your hypnosis session is your want to quit.

After hypnosis: Being a nonsmoker

Being a nonsmoker, of course, has its perks. But after so many years of smoking, suddenly quitting after just one hypnotherapy session can come as a shock to the body, especially the lungs. After all, you’re used to taking more deep breaths from inhaling cigarette puffs as a smoker. After your hypnotherapy session, your hypnotherapist should advise you to frequently perform deep breathing exercises. There is still a buildup of tar and other harmful chemicals remaining in your lungs, so modified breathing technique is essential to getting healthy lungs back. Practice deep breathing exercises whenever you’d normally have a cigarette, or several times a day.

With other methods, quitting smoking is hard, but with hypnosis and the true want to be a nonsmoker, it is possible after just one session.

Smoking and Pregnant

Impact of smoking on kids

Quit smoking before it harms your kids!

Smoking used to be cool, the coolest thing you could do. Just watch an episode of Mad Men or turn on a Humphrey Bogart flick for proof—tobacco used to be the King of suave. These days cigarettes have lost their glitz and glamour. In most Western countries, smoking is frowned upon and is quickly losing is social acceptability.

How Does Smoking Affect the Unborn Baby

Just because something is stigmatized does not make it an anti-social behavior. Many smokers would still claim that smoking is an act of community during which people can socialize and make and maintain friendships. However, recent research has linked prenatal smoking to anti-social behavior in children. If this is true, it has wide-ranging consequences for our society since many pregnant women are exposed to cigarette smoke on a daily basis even if they have made the conscious decision not to smoke themselves.

Potential Issues Due to Smoking While Pregnant

According to a study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, a “small but significant” link exists between maternal smokers and the development of ADHD and unruly behavior in their progeny. They speculate that this has to do with the reduction of oxygen to the fetus when mother’s smoke during pregnancy, which can damage brain development as well as other parts of the body. While this claim is still quite controversial (as many psychiatrists see ADHD and unruly behavior as phenomena engendered by socialization), it is still worth pondering. How many children and the lives of those around them, are negatively impacted by the fact that they were exposed to the over 4000 toxins present in cigarette smoke? We know how fragile fetal development is and we know what cigarettes do to adult bodies. So it isn’t that far of a stretch to see the link between maternal smoking and the development of anti-social behavior in children.

What Can You do for Your Unborn Child

If you are a smoker and are considering having children or are around pregnant women, then you should seriously consider the implications of your habit relative to the healthy development of the baby growing inside you or growing inside the women around you. Children are born into this world innocent and dependent and rely on the judgment of their parents for their health, development and safety. Children are a great incentive for you to find the will power to break the chains of your tobacco habit. There are many smoking cessation methods that can help you put out your last cigarette. One method worth looking into is hypnotherapy or hypnosis to quit smoking as it helps you change your beliefs and restructure your habits—it is never too late to create a new you!

Cigarette Prison: The Smoker’s Isolation

$

Very often, we think of smoking as a social habit; that is, smoking is something that people do to connect with others around them. But as smoking becomes more and more of a taboo—especially in the public sphere—many smokers are beginning to feel isolated and alone as they see their friends around them quit smoking one by one.

Depressed as he would like to quit

Depressed man smoking cigarette

Not so long ago, smokers were everywhere. On planes, in the office, at parties, in their beds reading at night. And even though Big Tobacco is still a multi-billion dollar industry world-wide, headway has been made in the effort to get people to quit smoking: In Australia, for example, the smoking ban in all enclosed public spaces makes it impossible to light up in bars and restaurants.

Smoking bans

These bans plus people’s awareness that smoking is deadly, have contributed to lower rates of smoking in some cases here in Australia. But the shadow side is that smoking is now a stigmatized activity. In today’s world, smokers are usually looked down on by non-smokers.

The Stigma Surrounding Smoking

This can lead many smokers to feel isolated and alone. Some even go as far as to engage in their habit in complete secrecy. Others worry that they will be shut out or mocked by friends, family and colleagues because of their dependency on cigarettes. As a result, many smokers become depressed and unsure of what to do—they want know they want to quit, but aren’t sure how. They just feel so alone.

The good news

Is that smokers don’t have to feel isolated. They can give up their smoking habits without being stigmatized. Quit smoking professionals, like those who employ quit smoking hypnosis, help smokers quit without feeling ashamed of themselves. Smoking cessation professionals help smokers empower themselves to kick their cigarette habits for good. With the guidance of a good quit smoking professional, smokers learn to value themselves and build self-esteem. With self-esteem comes the ability to be alone without feeling isolated as well as the ability to socialize without feeling stigmatized.

No smoker need ever feel isolated because no smoker is ever really alone. There is always help for those who need it—and help to quit smoking is no exception.

Smoking and Bone Health

arztsamui / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Most people associate the harms of smoking with lung damage and cancer, but the tobacco habit’s negative effects on your health go much deeper—did you know that smoking can also damage your bones? The bones are rigid organs that protect the rest of your body, provide your body with structure, and allow movement. Damaging your bones means damaging our ability to move and take part in activities. Let’s take a look at some of the ways smoking harms your bones in order to keep you alert to the harsh reality of how dangerous the tobacco habit really is.

Smoking and the Hormonal System

Smoking wreaks havoc on your hormonal system which in turn wreaks havoc on your bones. Your bones need hormone balance in order to stay strong and the hormone imbalances caused by smoking cause the liver to produce hormone destroying enzymes (for example to balance estrogen levels) and this leads to bone loss—these enzymes damage the bones.

Another way that smoking damages the bones is by way of the generation of free radicals. Smoking infuses the body with an overload of harmful free radicals that kill osteoblasts which are the cells that make bones. People commonly make the mistake of misunderstanding that bones are constantly growing and require continuous nourishment.  Disrupting the bone growth and nourishment process by damaging and killing osteoblasts can lead to increased risk of fractures and osteoporosis.

What About Second Hand Smoke

Second hand smoke can be just as damaging to the bones of non smokers. It is especially vital to zone in on the damages of second hand smoke because many second hand smokers are children and they are in crucial bone development stages. Being around tobacco smoke can seriously hamper their ability to grow the strong bones they need for a healthy adulthood.

One good reason to put out that last cigarette is your bone health. Unlike many of the other damages the body incurs from smoking, healing the damage done to bones is a very slow process and some of the damage may even be irreversible. Bone density is not something that you can improve in  a week with calcium supplements.

Smoking is Abusive to Our Body

There is nothing about the habit that is good and nothing about it that is healthy. No matter how good you think cigarettes make you feel, they are really destroying you from the inside out. From your bones to your lungs, cigarettes are contributing to a shorter, less enjoyable life. If you are a regular smoker then it is time for you to seriously consider getting rid of your tobacco habit for good.

Can I Really Quit Smoking in 3 Weeks?

Have the healthy lifestyle with quitting smoking

Enjoy a healthy lifestyle and be a non smoker

It’s an offer you can’t refuse and it’s an offer that likely sounds too good to be true: quit smoking in three weeks? But quitting smoking in three weeks is actually a very attainable goal as long as you know how to go about it the right way.

How Can you Quit Smoking in 3 Weeks

There are three steps that you can take in order to permanently rid yourself of a smoking habit in three weeks: identifying a want, identifying a good reason and making use of hypnosis. Let’s take a closer look at all three:

1 – The Want

To be able to quit smoking in three weeks’ time you have to have a very strong want. That is, a strong desire and then your will to quit smoking. This is a pretty simple and self-explanatory step. The old saying goes that where there is a will there is a way. Thus, without a will, there is no way to quit smoking. You may feel under pressure from well thinking family and friends to quit smoking. However while this may be helpful, you may not have that want. So think about all the negatives of smoking such as the dame it is doing to your health. Even dying at an early age  which happens quiet frequently. Hypnotherapist Maureen Hamilton had this experience with her husband dying at 47 from smoking. So it is possibly and it does happen. Perhaps think about second hand smoke and how it is affecting those around you, not only the people but also pets.

2 – A Good Reason

Most people develop a strong want to quit smoking because they have a good reason to quit smoking. There are a range of reasons why people want to quit: health, family, job or financial issues can all be catalysts for the smoking cessation process. The key is to find a reason or reasons that really compels you to put out the cigarettes. It is preferable to find this reason or reasons earlier rather than later. For example, it is much better to look into the future and decide to quit smoking before you have kids rather than wait until you have already had kids and expose them to the damages of second-hand smoke.

3. Hypnosis

Finally, after you have identified your want and your reason, you need to find a quit smoking method. And if you really want to successfully quit smoking in three weeks then quit smoking hypnosis is the way to go. Quit smoking hypnosis will provide you with the tools you need to eradicate your emotional and psychological dependence on cigarettes. You can then learn to emotionally and psychologically gratify yourself in ways that contribute to your health and well-being in positive, life-affirming ways.

Quit Smoking with Hypnosis

Congratulations on seeking help to Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking is not easy. Just as you become accustomed to pulling a cigarette out, your body and mind become accustomed to smoking. You develop a habit, and pretty soon it is almost a subconscious reflex. You have a cigarette when you get in your car. You have one when you have your first cup of coffee. You have one the second you step out of the office. As you continue to fuel your smoking habit, your body keeps destroying itself, and suddenly you’re hit with the realization that you need to stop.

Quitting cold turkey does not work for everyone. As mentioned before, the act of smoking is a habit, so quitting involves breaking the habit. And that is tough—imagine quitting another habit, such as biting your nails or cracking your knuckles.

What is the Quit Smoking Cold Turkey Timeline

The timeline of quitting smoking cold turkey is relatively short: Within 3 weeks of not having any cigarettes, all of the nicotine will be out of your system, and withdrawal symptoms should cease. But, if you’re a smoker, imagine no cigarettes for three weeks. Most smokers who choose the cold turkey method wind up giving in and smoking again. This can happen over and over and over. Quitting simply doesn’t stick—you’re still left with the habit that you aren’t fulfilling. This leads to cravings. Many people choose to replace cigarettes with other vices, such as e‑cigarettes, or try prescribed medications to quit smoking. Even when using these, you still want to smoke. You are constantly fighting the urge to have a cigarette and trying to ignore cravings.

How Hypnotherapy is the Answer rather Than Cold Turkey

Think of hypnotherapy as quitting on your own terms with your hypnotherapist helping along. After just one session with a hypnotherapist, you can become a nonsmoker. Doesn’t that sound better than weeks of agonizing withdrawal symptoms and fighting the urge to smoke?

Finding a hypnotherapist you can trust is crucial to the process as a whole. If there is any shred of doubt in your mind, hypnotherapy will not work. You need to be ready to trust your hypnotherapist, and you need to truly want to be a nonsmoker. You must be ready and dedicated.

Think about why you started smoking

Was it stress relief? Peer pressure? No matter how much you enjoyed cigarettes in the beginning, chances are you don’t enjoy them now as you once did. You reach for a cigarette because smoking controls you, not because you truly want that cigarette. This is what makes hypnotherapy for smoking so unique. It works to diminish this relationship that smoking has with your mind. After meeting with a good hypnotherapist, you will never want a cigarette again. The habit will be gone.

Now think about why you want to quit. Do you want to do it for your partner? Your kids? Is your family trying to get you to quit? No matter how close to your heart the reason may be, you will not successfully quit if you don’t want to quit.

How Can Hypnosis Help Me

If you are seeking help or experiencing the frustration of being a smoker, then reach out and make contact. The Hypnotherapist Maureen Hamilton says her greatest love is to see just one more person being taken from the crutches of the cigarette companies and being free of this killing habit. You are also given a Lifetime Guarantee. This means if you ever smoke again, you can come back for another session and there is no charge to you. Quit Smoking Inspiration

Such excitment at now being a non smoker

Happy man feeling free from the habit of smoking

Quitting a bad habit is one of the most difficult things to do, especially smoking. It is  a physically and mentally destructive habit that leaves its mark on all systems of the body. For you, quitting smoking may seem impossible. However, with the right tools, determination, and inspiration, you can quit without ever wanting a cigarette again.

However, you really need all of those three things: Determination, inspiration, and the right tools. Quit smoking inspiration comes from within, and the smoker must be driven in order to feel inspired. Maybe their family is worried about their physical or mental health. Maybe they have a family history of heart disease and don’t want to exacerbate their risk by smoking. If an addict doesn’t have the will to quit the habit, nothing will make them. While smoking is more of a habit than an addiction, it will still be fairly difficult for most people. For some, the will to quit might be sudden, and for some others it may be more gradual.

The Right Tools to Help You Quit

Once you find your personal inspiration and determination to quit, it’s time to find the right tools to put you on the right track.

Remember: To quit, you have to be ready to quit. If you still want to smoke while you’re quitting, you are less likely to become a permanent non-smoker and more likely to cycle through relapses.

Frequently speaking with another person who has quit with hypnosis certainly is quit smoking inspiration. Mary went to see Maureen Hamilton (Hypnotherapist) to quit smoking. At the end of her session (only one) she went off a happy non-smoker. Two weeks later her son called and said, “You got Mum off cigarettes after smoking for 44 years. So I need to come and see you too.” This chap was working at the local station as a policeman.  Needless to say he also went off as a happy non-smoker. So if you’re ready and truly committed, then hypnosis will change your life so you too can be a non-smoker.

What can hypnosis do for you?

Hypnosis is the most unique tool to help you quit smoking. It is the only one that can help you truly believe you are a non-smoker, rather than a smoker who is suppressing his or her cravings with medicated treatment. For hypnosis to be effective in terms of quitting smoking, you must first find an accredited hypnotist, and then you must trust them, and trust yourself, that the hypnosis will work.

What is the Process to Quit Smoking with a Hypnotherapist

Before you meet with the hypnotherapist, he or she may speak with you to try and gather more information, and to see if you’re uncomfortable or unsure of the process. It is their job to make sure everything goes smoothly!

By the time you first visit your hypnotherapist, you two should have an action plan all ready to go. Just like no two people are the same, no two smokers are the same. Each smoker’s experience with a hypnotherapist will be different than the next.

The importance of following up

Once you become a non-smoker, you will have a period of adjustment, even just in terms of your lungs. In order to help you cope with this and keep you on track, you need to follow instructions about your care following your session. Only you can be in control once you become a non-smoker.

Final thoughts

With a hypnotherapist, the hardest part about quitting smoking is finding your inspiration. Once you’re determined, you can work together with your hypnotherapist so that your future never includes another cigarette.

Whether or not you’ve tried other methods to quit smoking in the past, you can find fulfilling and permanent success in hypnosis.

Why do People get Sick When They Give up Smoking

$
0
0

It is not unusual to hear people say “I quit cigarettes but was sick for days or even possibly weeks after quitting.

So Why do People Get Sick

There are over 4,000 toxins and poisons in every cigarette. Perhaps not huge amounts but over a period of time they do add up. The body has a blueprint of how it should be. So once a person quits smoking then the body will try to get rid of all the toxins and poisons out of your body as quickly as possible.

How Will This Release of Toxins in the Body Affect me?

For the first few days  people may feel nauseated, tired, even sad as the body goes through these changes. They may also feel quiet hungry and that is because the body is endeavouring to heal you so you can be healthy. Don’t forget there is sugar in the cigarettes too. So it is important to ensure you are eating enough healthy fruit and you only need to do that for four to five days and then slowly wean yourself back to what you would normally eat.

Why is Water So Important When Giving Up Smoking?

Those toxins and poisons (mentioned above) have to go somewhere and they will mainly go through the kidneys. So it is important to increase your water by at least 30% or if you are only drinking 1 litre of water a day, then you will need to increase this to at least two litres a day.

Here is an excerpt from an email message a client sent five days following his session:-

Hi Maureen, so far so good, I have not come even close to wanting a cigarette. I can’t believe how easy it has been and that I have only been drinking water and had good food and have not had withdrawals from any of my old habits. I must have been in pretty bad shape though as my kidneys have really been hurting. I am positive with the pain I feel I was verging on type 2 diabetes. I really do believe you saved my life. And I am over the moon about how I feel already.

My energy has to have doubled and its only day 4, I have more spring in my step and I feel more positive and bright throughout my daily jobs.

Notice he said his kidneys were really hurting. When I spoke to this chap he said he was drinking but hadn’t increased it. So water is very important so those toxins and poisons can be flushed out as quickly as possible.

What is a Big Benefit to Quitting Smoking?

The energy increases around day 4 and this is a common comment given by clients. The process used by Maureen Hamilton only requires one session. So it is important to be prepared for all the above suggestions.

Can Quit Smoking Lose Weight

You’ve probably heard that smokers lose weight just from smoking, and that people who quit smoking start gaining weight.

If you’re a smoker, think about your other lifestyle habits. Odds are, they aren’t the healthiest choices either. Maybe your cholesterol levels are too high, or maybe you don’t get enough exercise, leading to poor metabolism and even poorer dietary habits.Quit Smoking Hydrates the Skin

If you’re looking to quit smoking to help you lose weight, or vice versa, find an accredited hypnotherapist in your area. He or she can help you develop good habits that will help you become a healthy nonsmoker!

Can quit smoking help you lose weight?

It’s widely believed that people who quit smoking gain five to ten kilos on average. Depending on the person, this can be due to overeating after quitting smoking. Many people eat more after quitting because of the oral fixation. Because the smoking habit is so deeply instilled in a smoker even after quitting, they need to replace the feeling of a cigarette in their mouth with something else, such as sucking on lollipops or crunching on pretzels. This often occurs in people who are not using hypnosis  but are giving up smoking using other methods which does not change the habit as happens in hypnosis.

Another reason why many people gain weight after quitting smoking is because of a drop in metabolism. Since nicotine raises the body’s metabolic rate, the absence of nicotine decreases it. This can cause you to gain weight if you do not change your movement or dietary habits once you quit smoking.

But—it is possible, when quitting smoking, to lose weight. Think about it! Quitting smoking for life takes a ton of dedication, self-motivation, and thought. Wouldn’t it make sense to use this opportunity to better your life as a whole, rather than only quitting smoking? Your health will undoubtedly benefit from you quitting smoking, but imagine how much better you’d feel if you quit smoking and, say, exercised for 20 more minutes each day. If you’re ready to quit smoking, take this opportunity to truly better your life and future. Check the information below.

If you are ready to become a nonsmoker and improve your life as a result, hypnotherapy is for you.

Why hypnotherapy is the right choice for quitting smoking

Hypnotherapy is unlike any other method to help you quit smoking, and it doesn’t come along with weight gain. Once you have just one session with a hypnotherapist, you are not a smoker and your habit is gone. This means you will not turn to food to replace cigarettes—the urge won’t even be there anymore.

Quitting smoking with more traditional methods, such as going cold turkey, using the nicotine patch, or taking medications, means you’ll still have to fight temptation, but quitting smoking with hypnotherapy eliminates the temptation from your life completely. You won’t wake up the morning after hypnotherapy craving a cigarette. The most important thing, however, is your commitment and “Want” to quit. If you don’t bring the want to quit to your hypnotherapy session, the treatment will not work. You also need to trust your hypnotherapist and be confident in him or her. Any shred of doubt will prevent you from becoming a nonsmoker with hypnotherapy.

So, if you want to lose weight while quitting smoking, you need to be determined to change your lifestyle and stay motivated to developing and maintaining good health. And hypnotherapy can help you do just that!

Maureen Hamilton – Hypnotherapist

Maureen Hamilton is a hypnotherapist and has helped over a thousand people to quit smoking. The experience and feedback coming from clients indicate that there are two groups of people. Group A do put on weight, on average 5 -10 kilos although very occasionally even higher. However in Group B people do not put on weight in fact quite often they lose weight. So why this discrepancy.

Note: Well Group A are probably not eating very healthy in the first place and when the energy kicks in on Day 4 or thereabouts, they don’t take advantage of that and increase their exercise. Meanwhile Group B as soon as that energy kicks in they are doing exercise and feeling healthy, breathing better and increasing their self confidence and self esteem. Most importantly they are not putting on weight and in fact quiet often lose weight.

Quit Smoking is not always easy

$

Indeed that can be said of many people who struggle every day to quit. Remember when you first started smoking and it was so revolting. Then we persevered until we were hooked and enjoying it.

Depressed as he would like to quit

Depressed man smoking cigarette

Looking back there are many reasons why people smoke – peer pressure; parents smoked so it was a natural progression for yourself; loved the social interaction.

Are you a still smoking and either enjoying a cigarette or perhaps struggling to quit smoking?

Do you ever feel hurt or annoyed when you see people turn their noses up when they see or smell your smoking? You ask yourself, “How do they know how I feel?” Or more importantly, “It’s none of their business if I smoke. I can do what I like – it is my body.”

Or perhaps you are saying to yourself, “If only they knew how hard it is for me to quit smoking?”

Which phrase relates to you?

For some people, quitting smoking on their own is easy. On the other hand, it is one of the most difficult things they have ever had to do. Even quitting dope seems easy compared to quitting smoking.

People have often tried so many ways to quit – tablets, NRT or nicotine replacement therapy such as patches or sprays, cold turkey just to name a few. Yet they continue to smoke. Often feeling like a failure. Of course they are not a failure. This is what we call feedback. Smoking is frequently being classed as an addiction however it is more of a habit.

Where are our habits stored?

Our habits are stored in the unconscious mind.
So how do we change those habits? The most successful way to change those habits is with hypnosis. While a person is in that relaxed state of hypnosis the habits that have been stored there for years and years can be changed in one short session. Hypnosis is a trance like state where the person is relaxed and the therapist can speak to the unconscious mind.

So the question may be asked if hypnosis can help everyone.

As a rule yes as we are all in and out of trance throughout the day. There may be some people who may be challenged to be hypnotised.

With Quitting smoking or hypnosis in any therapeutic occasion, the most important requirement is for the person to want to let go of their habit. Hypnotherapists are not magicians although some people feel they must be due to the amazing changes people experience.

Is The Media Responsible For Eating Disorders?

$
0
0

Weight Loss HypnosisThe media bombards us with pressure to be thin and perfect, and this kind of pressure does not lead to a healthy self-image or healthy eating habits. Women, especially teenage girls, are particularly vulnerable to the images of celebrity and model bodily perfection that are really just the result of personal trainers, stylists, and airbrushing. Despite the fact that women logically know that bodies portrayed in the media and popular culture are false idols, they still worship and strive for them and some women go as far as harming their bodies by developing eating disorders as a method of weight control.

Is the media solely to blame

Eating disorders are on the rise across the Western world, and they are now becoming more prevalent in children. The media is not solely to blame for them; there are a variety of biological and environmental factors that contribute to the development of conditions such as anorexia and bulimia. Let’s take a look at some of the basics of eating disorders to get a better idea of how to combat them by creating healthy eating habits.

Some Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are a group of conditions characterized by abnormal or unhealthy eating habits; they include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating. There is much debate surrounding the precise cause of eating disorders: nobody really knows what causes them for sure. Like many other psychological/medical conditions, it is unclear if biology or environment play crucial roles, but many researchers believe that environmental factors are what shape eating disorders, particularly since they are more prevalent in Western cultures. Many people who develop these disorders have suffered from childhood abuse, be it physical, emotional, or sexual. Teenagers who are particularly influenced by peer pressure and the drive to be thin can also develop eating disorders. Controlling how and what you eat is a way that many deal with stress and feel that they have some order and control over their lives in a very complicated, fast, and high-pressure Western society.

Complications of Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are extremely harmful to the body and mind and if left untreated, they can be fatal. Depending on the disorder, they can cause constipation, scurvy, heart problems, cavities/tooth loss, brain atrophy, electrolyte imbalance, and kidney failure. Eating disorders are severe health problems that need to be dealt with swiftly in order to minimize the risk for permanent, long-term health damage.

Treatment for Eating Disorders

There are many courses of treatment for people who suffer from these disorders, ranging from cognitive behavioral therapy to hypnotherapy and inpatient treatment. Helping people with eating disorders to discover an inner peace, inner love for themselves, and healthy eating habits is vital to their recovery and will help them to avoid relapses. If you or someone you know is suffering with an eating disorder don’t wait-get help today.

Harness the Power of Your Unconscious Mind, Quit Smoking for Good

$

Many people think that quitting smoking entails a mixture of nicotine patches and endless suffering and cigarette cravings. But, truthfully, quitting smoking doesn’t have to be so difficult (or painstaking) if you tap into the power of your unconscious mind.

Quitting with Hypnosis

Is smoking really an addiction?

Mainstream medicine tells you that smoking is an addiction to nicotine, but new research, conducted at Tel Aviv University, shows that smoking is actually a psychosocial habit. That is, you smoke because you are mentally—and not physically—dependent on cigarettes.

The conscious and unconscious mind

Being mentally dependent on cigarettes means that your unconscious mind is at work. The mind is divided into both the conscious and unconscious mind. The conscious mind is the awareness that we have of our thoughts and actions in daily life—what am I doing right now or what will I do tomorrow? The unconscious mind, on the other hand, stores our memories, emotions, thoughts and habits—what happened yesterday, or years ago, and how do I feel about it?

Most people begin smoking for a variety of psychological reasons that get lodged in the unconscious mind: relieving stress, easing of social anxiety, wanting to looking cool. In the past the army encouraged their troops to smoke as they said it would keep them calm. Cigarettes, then, become associated with certain psychosocial situations and needs and as a result, smoking becomes an unconscious habit.

When smoking becomes a habit

The best way to quit is to get to the root of the problem: your unconscious mind. In order to quit smoking, you need to change the unconscious messages that you tell yourself about smoking: that it will make you feel relaxed; that it will help you make friends; that it will make you look “cool” and popular.

The Power of Hypnosis

One way to change your unconscious beliefs is to harness the power of your unconscious mind through hypnotherapy. With the help of an experienced hypnotherapist, you can re-train your thoughts and beliefs so that they tell you a new set of messages: that you don’t like cigarettes, that you don’t need cigarettes, that you will never smoke again! Hypnotherapy helps you realize that your thoughts create your own reality and that you have the power to change and control them. So if you want to give up cigarettes—and really give them up for good—then take advantage of a quit smoking method like hypnotherapy and harness the power of your unconscious mind for positive changes. You are in charge of you!

Tips to Quit Smoking

Tips to Quit Smoking

Are you thinking about quitting smoking?

We know quit smoking planning is important. No matter what the event or occasion is, planning is essential. Take for example any major construction. Most organisations use a program such as Project Manager to ensure the project is finished on time.

Well the same applies to quit smoking. Planning and preparation are key to success.

Helpful Tips to Quit Smoking

To assist with your journey in life as a non-smoker, we recommend that you make the following preparations prior to commencing.

  1. Remove all cigarettes, ashtrays and lighters from your home, shed, car or office.
  2. This link will show you how much money you are spending on your cigarettes now – how much it is costing you a year – https://lifecoachtoquitsmoking.com/cost-calculator/
  3. Here is a link to show you how much you would have spent on cigarettes from now into old age, had you not quit through attending your Quit Cigarettes in 60 Minutes appointment. Save this link as well, as an icon on your desktop http://www.quit.org.au/reasons-toquit/cost-of-smoking
  4. Ensure you have a small stockpile of fruit for the first few days, as this helps flush nicotine out of your system and also helps stabilise your sugar levels after you quit.
  5. Listen to the Introduction and the Relaxation Stress Reduction Hypnosis audios on the website https://lifecoachtoquitsmoking.com/listen-to-this-audio/ so you are informed about the hypnosis process and are prepared for your session. Alternatively download the audio from the Dropbox to your phone or iPad. (There are 2 audios)

Additional Tips to Help Quit Smoking

  1. Cigarettes act as a laxative, so you may become constipated after quitting. Therefore, have some natural remedies on hand and keep up your fibre intake to help you through this temporary period of potential irregularity.
  2. Clean and deodorise your car (if you currently smoke in your car)
  3. For those whose breakfast consists of a coffee and a cigarette, you will find yourself wanting to eat a healthy breakfast after your hypnosis session. Therefore, consider what you might like to eat and ensure that you have the provisions to support this positive lifestyle change.
  4. Have a good supply of water bottles (eg. at home, in the car, on your desk at work, etc.)
  5. Have a good supply of healthy snacks especially high protein, as you will be fairly hungry for a few days after your session. So be prepared especially if you do not want to gain weight.

Quit Smoking is Easy

Quitting smoking can be one of the biggest challenges smokers face. Most smokers don’t want to smoke but feel totally controlled by the smoking. For example how often have smokers said they had decided to cut down thinking they would not smoke when they get up in the morning? Then in the morning they reach for the cigarette and before they realise what has happened the cigarette is alight and in their hand.

People who have been on marijuana often comment that quitting smoking is harder than quitting pot or marijuana.

Why is it so Hard to Quit Smoking?

While it is commonly stated that smoking is an addiction, it is also a very powerful habit. Our habits are stored in our unconscious mind and each time a cigarette is smoked, that habit is reinforced. The unconscious mind is there to protect us emotionally as well as physically. When a cigarette is smoked it is doing its job, keeping the person happy.

Many years ago the cigarette habit was created. This often involved some initial discomfort such as coughing and spluttering, then with perseverance the habit was formed. In fact it wasn’t too long before the decision was made that smoking was enjoyable and even relaxing. So one cigarette lead to another one and then to many. It is not too long until the average number of cigarettes became around 15-20 a day.

Since the habit is held in the unconscious mind, this would indicate that the habit needs to be changed at the unconscious level. We have a barrier that separates the conscious from the unconscious mind which is important. Otherwise we would have to remember when to breathe and do those other functions in the body that are done at the unconscious level.

Hypnosis Can Help Change Habits

Since we cannot get through to the unconscious mind and tell it to let go of the habit, this is where hypnosis comes in. In that relaxed state of hypnosis, the hypnotherapist speaks to the unconscious mind letting it know it is time to quit smoking. This is why it is so easy to quit smoking in just one easy session of hypnosis.
